Sharif Hassan: a liability factor for Somalia
Number of View: 1228A light is shinning for the troubled tunnel to Somalia’ peace and stability, and as far as the conference on Somalia in London on Feb 23rd is concerned, we predicted it as a step in the right direction; hence the conferences will put together 40 countries and a high standard international organizations to create a long time strategic plan to stabilize Somalia which has entered its 21st year of conflict. This is the first of its kind and we honestly appreciate it.
We are a nation that is condemned to be governed and guided, by corrupt envoys from third world countries for 20 yrs, with the strategic intention, to prolong the conflict and cash it on the situation desk. Both Sharifs are the product of these rules of engagements that were imposed to us and they both fired the latest two academic prominent prime ministers. We are in a point of no return and humbly requesting the Security Council members to assign Somalia a viable European or American Stock as an envoy to Somalia after London Conference.
The current Political Strategy Consultation Conference offered by the coalition government of the United Kingdom, presents the best opportunity so far to re-establish peace and stability initiatives for Somalia. But for this to be achieved, the Government of Mogadishu, must put the interests of the Somali people first and confront the politically corrupted countries like Italy, who are currently lobbying to put Somalia under AU Trusteeship and made our coastline a toxic dump waste permanently.
It is said that Integrity resides in the hearts of men (and of course with women), and if it dies there, no law or a system can revive. Our country continues to experience a break down of the rule of law, human rights violations, ethnic malpractices, grand corruptions and economic crimes. Aid is not a solution for Somalia but the country requires a strong security apparatus from the International Community and not from Egad or AU whose animosity towards us crossed beyond the skin. We have strong Somali Community presence in Europe and America and ought to fight for peace and prosperity for our nation. Our Study shows that we can make it and hold every leader accountable for what has gone wrong during his reign for the last 20 yrs.
The accused and ousted Speaker (Sharif Hassan) should not be allowed holding any title nor should he be invited on the name of a government to international conferences until proven not guilty by the parliament. 269Mps out of 289 has rejected and impeached him for non compliance with the charter. Who are the spoilers?? if i may ask.
We read well the Kampala accord and the road map. Kampala Accord, which stipulates the transitional charter should be observed and respected. Yes, any thing that violates the charter should be regarded as null and void but the Kampala Accord itself violates the charter of the AU, which preserves and respects the domestic affairs of the member states.
The Somali Parliament is on the right track on this matter based on civic education and the learning curve for democracy. Majority rules, I presumed on common sense, not a perception.
Sharif Hassan has been conspiring with the Italian government in Rome & AU Headquarter in Addis Ababa against our existence and resources as a nation, riding a wagon of his own, without the consent of the parliament, and for this only; Diaspora technocrats sees him, an unacceptable represent ant, and I might academically say this, to any decision that retains him as Speaker of the Parliament is a liability to the Institution itself and the nation.
In tooth & Nail, Transitional federal government must show solidarity and come forward with meaningful political statement. The complicit conspiracy of small interest groups or countries must come to an end. This is the best chance for a peaceful and stable Somalia.
A great peace activist once quoted “the ultimate measure of man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”.
Somalia is one of the richest countries in the world in resources and we call upon all
Oil explorations and gas drilling companies’ of the UK, CA, USA, And EU to re-visit Somalia’ potentialities on economic contribution to the world and assess with us, in finding a collective political investment and compromises, for peace and stability throughout the country as to eliminate and reject the imposed hand outs of the UN for our national army, police and MP’s.
I urge every Somali to hold his/her breathe and support this re conciliatory and assessment meeting set by the government of Great Britain. This season is said to be a make up or break it on Somalia’s future on the map.
